University of Düsseldorf receives 40 mio. EUR grant (12/03/2008)

The University of Düsseldorf has received the largest single financial grant in its history: the Düsseldorf-based Schwarz-Schütte-Foundation (SSFS) gives 40 mio. EUR to the faculty of economics for a new "Düsseldorf Institute for Competition Economics" (DICE). The new institute will be a centre of research, focussing on the effect of competition mechanisms on the optimal distribution of limited ressources. A new building will be constructed for DICE as well as for the remaining institutes of the faculty - from 2010 they will move to the newly built "Oeconomicum" at Düsseldorf.
