Kassel extends its cooperation links with Central America (03/28/2005)

In the much admired yet crumbling old city of Havanna, which has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, the University of Kassel, together with Cuban partner organisations, is going to set up a Competence and Demonstration Centre to look at the modern possibilities of city renovation and city development.
Kassel’s president, Professor Rolf-Dieter Postlep, recently signed a cooperation agreement with the University St. Clara, the second largest university on Cuba. The project also has the support of the German Embassy. The agreement will strengthen the relationship between the two universities, which already goes back some 15 years.
