Brilliant Minds - International Scientists in Germany





Dr. Ferdinando Cicalese

... from Italy is a 33-year-old computer scientist who won the Humboldt Foundation's Sofja Kovalevskaja prize in 2004.

He's using the money to carry out research at Bielefeld University, where's he working with biologists, trying to find patterns in the mass of data emerging from genetic research. These patterns could provide the biologists with material for their own research.
