Passau is called the city of the 3 rivers. Not only tourists, but also Passauers love walking along the rivers, enjoying themselves on the stunning banks, where they can see the clouds above the rooftops, and catch them under the waves. These rivers are diverse. They have different springs, they flow in different directions, have different water colors. But they join together at the heart of this peaceful city.
In some moments, I can feel the true happiness by watching the true beauty of the flows. Or in other word, it’s rivers’ flow in me. I feel it in my heart and feel it raises up, wants to burst out to the outside world. It is the tear that made of the confluence of the true, the good and the beautiful, by letting the confluence of the Danube, the Inn and the Ilz fill up my soul.
I can hardly imagine that kind of a heal pill else where, like these rivers do to me. It opens up my eyes how naturally and how fluently differences can exist right next to each other, flow along each other and make up one another. Is it anything else, but the equality, belonging and solidarity we human are heading towards? Is it this unity the end goal of the union we all are longing for? By connecting with nature, suddenly, everything I am studying makes sense to me, in the real world, so simple, and so pretty.
The breath of natural differences is something hundred thousands of people come to Passau yearly to admire. And the life of human cultural, customary and ethnic diversity, too, everywhere in the world, is also just as pretty and splendid and can always join together at the heart of anyone.
