Meine Erste Woche in Deutschland (Englisch)
This week I arrived in Germany! The flight from the UK to Germany was pretty smooth and the weather was great.
(On board my EasyJet flight from London Gatwick to Stuttgart on June 6th 2016).
I met the family I’d be living with for the next seven weeks and began working the very next day. Basically what I do is do some light housework, run errands (posting letters, helping the mother with her linguist business) and look after two children. I work Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays for them and then on Mondays and Fridays I will work on my blog posts and have time to go out and gather pictures or do something in order to write about my experience in Germany. And on weekends it’s my free time to do whatever I like; meet friends, explore, or just chill.
This week I learnt ‘Fur dein Geburtstag gehen wir am 19.6 auf den Fernseturm’ which is what the children wrote on a picture they drew for me. It was recently my 22nd birthday, so that explains why they wrote ‘for your birthday’ at the beginning. So anyway, for my birthday we’re going up the TV tower in Stuttgart. I’ve never been but I’m excited to see some amazing views of the city and surrounding area.
I am looking forward to this new adventure. This week has been a gentle step for me, I think. I didn’t want to do anything too much for me at the moment because I’m still pretty tired from travelling on Monday and working with children is tiring, especially because the weather has been so hot lately!
You’ll hear from me next week with another blog about my adventures in Germany. Bis Bald!
