uni-assist

Do you want to get an approval from a german University?

Well there are some really important steps that you need to follow.

uni-assist

Uni Assist is an organisation that helps you with providing an approval from the university you want to study in. The most of the universities are connected with the uni-assist. Therefore, you would probably deal with this organisation in order to get a chair in the faculty you want. In this Blog I am going to tell you the most essential information about this organisation and how to deal with it.

  • The first thing you need to know about dealing with this oraganisation is that it is a paid kind of one. Each student must pay for every university they choose. E.g. you want to study medicine or architecture, you are not sure if you can get an approval from the university easily, so you choose 20 universities, which you are going to send your papers to and wait for an answer from each one of them, either with an approval or a rejection. For the first university you must pay 75€ and 15€ for each university from the 19 universities left.
  • In order to send your documents through uni-assist, you must make an account at first by filling your information encluding your adress, email and telephone number. After the uni-assist approves all your data, they will send you an approval of your account with your username and password within 48 hours. You can put the username and the password you wish for.
  • Before uploading your files, you need to choose the universities you wish to get an approval from with the faculty you wish to study in. Each university has its own contract that you would need to fulllfiill within the steps which are going to appear to you automatically. After fullfilling your data for the first time, you would be able to upload the files you want to. As you upload your documents, they will be automatically saved, therefore you would only need to check them the next time without uploading them again.
  • After uploading your files, uni-assist will be able to check all the data you have uploaded and study it.
  • You need to print all of your documents that you have uploaded including a photo of your passport and all the papers you have fullfilled online.
  • After you print all of those papers you must transfer the money to the bank account of the uni-assist.
  • As the last step you must go to a post office and send all of these papers attached with the check of the money transfer to the post adress of the uni-assist in Berlin.
  • If you don’t send the post, your file won’t be studied.

Those were all the steps you need to take in order to deal with uni-assist and have an approval from a university through them. Not all the universities deal with this organisation, most of them though. Some universities just require from you to fullfill your data in their official website.

Wishing you only all the best to come.

Good day. Do I need to have a German language skills before I can get admitted to M. A Social and Cultural Anthropology at Freie Universitat Berlin

Comment by Lois Timothy created 16/08/2019 - 13:16

      Hi Lois,

Usually language proficiency equivalent to B2 level is required to study a course in the German language. Please check the specific requirements on the website of the programmes you are interested in or get in touch with the International Office of the university.

For most degree programmes, knowledge of German (usually B2 level) is a prerequisite for admission to German university. However, you don’t need to know German if you intend on enrolling in an international degree programme. Find more information on our website: https://www.study-in-germany.de/german-skills

I live in Brazil and therefore it’ll take a long time for the documents to arrive in Germany; would that be a problem? Also, I don’t have any English language certificate, but speak it as a mother tongue due to my English nationality. Is that sufficient?

    Hope you’re doing fine
Im questioning if it’s possible to transfer my study ?
Because I’ve already finished two academic years ( school of dentistry )
    And if it’s yes
I must study German language first and then join my study in any German university right ?!
    Best regards

    Comment by Sama created 23/10/2019 - 16:51

      Hi Sama,

in Germany, Dentistry programmes usually take six years to complete and end with what we call the “State Examination” (Staatsexamen). It is not split into bachelor’s and master’s degrees. You can search for courses in Dentistry in our database: https://www.study-in-germany.de/en/plan-your-studies/find-programme-and-university/.

Usually language proficiency equivalent to B2 level is required to study a course in the German language. Please check the specific requirements on the website of the programmes you are interested in or get in touch with the International Office of the university.

    Good morning German study team

I have several consultations. I am an architect by profession I have two years of work experience and would like to do a master’s degree in Germany, but seeing among the requirements of the universities my average is not as good as what most universities ask for, even now I prepare to give it to the toefl exam but these universities ask for a B2 level but within the B2 level an 80 to 89 as a final grade, I am afraid of not having those grades upload my uni-assistance files paying 75 euros per application and 15 euros for each Another application, the question is,
Do I have any chance of being accepted at the universities or by uni-assist my papers not get to the university because of the qualifications they ask for and not paying this money to apply?

    Comment by cristhian created 18/04/2020 - 18:45

      Hi Christian,

I think there should be a chance for you! 🙂 Our advise is to contact the university which you would like to apply to (especially the International Office) and ask how high your grade has to be and if you have a chance. Because the application process of each university is different, please get in touch with them directly.
You can find all degree programmes offered by German universities in the DAAD database: https://www.study-in-germany.de/en/plan-your-studies/find-programme-and-university/ , as well as the contact to the university.

      Hi Abdul,

the DAAD admission database http://www.daad.de/go/database-on-admission-requirements/ will tell you whether your university entrance qualification is recognised in Germany. You can obtain more specific information about other countries and certificates via Anabin: http://www.anabin.kmk.org (German only). This database contains information on how foreign secondary school-leaving certificates are evaluated. It provides the answers to all your relevant questions, e.g. whether your certificate will be recognised and whether you will need to meet further requirements.

The final decision is always made by the university to which you apply. Therefore, we recommend asking the International Office at the university of your choice whether you meet all the requirements!
