Walking in Schwerin

As a college student, some of you might have a week off before the lectures start. After I’m done with the lab, I also had one week off and I decided to visit my family and friends in Schwerin, the capital city of Mecklenburg Vorpommern. In case the name doesn’t sound familar to you, just know Schwerin is near Rostock.

Schwerin is a city that surrounded by the lakes and has a wonderful Palace named “Schwerin Palace”. According to wikipedia, Schwerin Palace is nickenamed as “Neuschwanstein of the North”. Because today’s weather was pretty good and it’s been a long time since my last walk, so I took a walk by the lake (that called “Fauler See”) and also through the park to the city.

Even today’s weather was quite cloudy, the city center was still crowded. To compare with Berlin, Schwerin is smaller, quieter and less crowded. But it’s also a good place to relax and take a break from all the noises.
