Overview

House 13 and House 14 were extensively modernised in 2010 and 2011. Good thermal insulation of the façades and new windows with a high energy efficiency standard were part of the modernisation measures. Ecological aspect: Central hot water generation is via a solar thermal energy system, heating is connected to a central heat and power unit, and a grey water processing system was installed for treating the water from showers and water basin that is then used for toilet flushing.

The student village is surrounded by old trees in a residential area very close to the medical institutions of the Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf. The buildings are arranged around a central green area. Numerous parking spaces close to each house can be reached via a private road.
