Overview

The Vauban Student Village lies in the Vauban district in Freiburg. The student village, named after the famous French builder of the 17th century, Sébastien de Vauban, consists of six renovated former barrack buildings and some new buildings, surrounded by lush greenery and ancient trees. Around six hundred students live there in flat shares for between two and nine people. Single apartments are also available. All of the rooms have an internet and satellite television connection. Numerous tutors and a village counsellor are part of community life.

The traffic-calmed area is connected to the city centre by tram, which takes about seven minutes. By bike it takes about 10-15 minutes.
