Overview

About 220 years lie between Biederstein Castle's past as the summer residence of the Wittelsbacher family and the estate becoming home to students of Munich's higher education institutions. Students first moved into the park in 1950-55. The listed building enjoys a peaceful location right on the edge of the English Garden, and the impressive baroque wrought iron gates are a reminder of the castle's regal history. Not just the building has achieved cult status - Biederstein Castle carnival is also legendary.
